University of Lodz

Activities for students and lecturers from abroad are among the priorities set by the University of Lodz in its strategy for the coming years. For example, in February, International Hub (iHub) was established to supervise the comprehensive process of internationalization — 45 foreign researchers are expected to come to the university soon. In addition, since 2016, the University Diversity project has been implemented. It provides exhibitions, workshops and initiatives for foreigners studying and teaching at UniLodz. The comfort of foreigners is also ensured by the City of Lodz Office, which announced recruitment for the competition “Academic Lodz friendly to new city residents” at the end of March. Under this programme, NGOs can apply for grants to finance activities aimed at integrating people from abroad. The competition provides support for projects in two areas. The first one includes initiatives that enable better adaptation of foreign students in Lodz universities, bring their culture closer and facilitate the acquisition of knowledge. The second one focuses on the activities of the scientific community. They include, among others, legal advice, language classes, art workshops, etc. The total budget allocated to subsidies in the competition is PLN 88 000.
